José Francisco Flores Alcalá is a Data Scientist and Senior Project Leader, with a career spanning engineering and project management roles across the manufacturing sector.

Flores Alcalá described the tracking documents his teams use to consolidate input across design, manufacturing, and testing so no department works from outdated information.

Jesús Adrián García López is an Electrical Design Engineer at Wheelabrator Group, where he designs control panels for automated industrial machinery sold to manufacturing clients across North America and Europe.

"There has to be some kind of structure, an organization that helps technicians know exactly which part is where. A lot of what goes wrong comes down to human error."

García López pointed to a common, underestimated cost during equipment startups: a rush-ordered part can cost up to fifty percent more while the machine sits idle.

Sergio Iván Torres Valdés is a Product Engineer at Bocar Group, with more than 13 years in Mexico’s automotive manufacturing industry, and is completing a Master’s degree in Innovation Management.

"Many companies don’t have the resources that some technology companies do, that’s exactly where innovation can make a difference. In manufacturing in Mexico, the development side feels a bit abandoned, we rely heavily on clients to bring in what’s new."
