Peace Rides Unite Communities in Nationwide Movement Against Violence

The Peace Rides, founded in South Central Los Angeles by the United in Peace Foundation, are a grassroots movement aimed at reducing violence and fostering unity across diverse communities. For over fourteen years, these monthly events have brought together clergy, community leaders, car and motorcycle clubs, civic groups, and families in a visible show of solidarity. Riders travel through neighborhoods affected by violence in processions of lowriders, motorcycles, and classic cars, stopping to offer prayers and support to grieving families. The movement has expanded from local rides in Long Beach, Compton, Carson, and Inglewood to a nationwide initiative, with Peace Rides and festivals held in Harlem, Oakland, Kansas City, and St. Louis. The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International has been a founding supporter, providing sponsorship and ongoing assistance.
