Way of the Holy Grail Cultural Events Tour Teruel Towns

The Cultural Association 'The Way of the Holy Grail' is organizing a series of cultural conferences that will tour seven municipalities in the province of Teruel from September 11 to 19, 2026. The initiative, subsidized by the Government of Aragon under Order ECD/500/2026 and supported by the participating town councils, aims to bring the history and heritage of El Camino del Santo Grial closer to local populations. The participating municipalities are Báguena, San Martín del Río, Fuentes Claras, Caminreal, San Agustín, Albentosa, and La Puebla de Valverde, all linked to the route.

Under the common theme 'The Way of the Holy Grail and its passage through [municipality]', the sessions will be led by Joaquín Poquet of ArtCare Consulting. He will discuss the historical and monumental heritage of each locality—including churches, castles, hermitages, bridges, and archaeological sites—within the broader context of the route. The program emphasizes distinguishing documented heritage from cultural interpretation, avoiding unsubstantiated historical claims. The cycle begins on September 11 in Báguena and concludes on September 19 in La Puebla de Valverde, with multiple sessions on September 12 and 13. The Association, founded in 2002, has been working to establish and promote the land route connecting the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña with the Cathedral of Valencia. It also manages the official pilgrimage credential, now in its fourth edition with over 31,000 units produced. The initiative is part of the Cultural Network in Aragon and aims to value the cultural heritage of small towns while reinforcing their connection to the broader European project, which includes a bid for recognition as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
