Omineca Advances Wingdam Gold Project with First Nations Support

Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. (TSXV: OMM) (OTCQB: OMMSF) has announced significant progress at its Wingdam Underground Paleoplacer Gold Recovery Project in British Columbia's Cariboo Mining District. Mining partner D&L Mining has completed preparation of Crosscut #2 for advance across the paleochannel, recovering substantial quantities of placer gold. The project is awaiting approval from the BC Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals to continue using the grouted spiling and shotcrete arch ground support method, which has proven effective. Additionally, the Lhtako Dene Nation (Red Bluff Indian Band) has submitted a formal letter of support to the BC government, underscoring positive community relations.

The Wingdam project targets high-grade placer gold from an ancient riverbed buried 50 meters beneath Lightning Creek. A 2012 bulk sample from a single crosscut recovered 173.4 ounces of gold, demonstrating economic potential. This season, D&L Mining switched from cementitious to epoxy-based chemical grout for ground stabilization, which sets in under an hour and is immune to water infiltration, enhancing safety and efficiency. The company plans to file a Five-Year Mine Plan for full development along 1.4 kilometers of paleochannel upon successful demonstration of safe crossing.
