New Film 'Boatlift 9/11' Honors Largest U.S. Maritime Rescue

In a powerful collaboration, Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions and the Mendez National Institute of Transplantation Foundation (MNITF) have announced the completion of principal photography for the short film "Boatlift 9/11." This cinematic project, currently in post-production and slated for a mid-June 2026 finish, dramatizes the incredible true story of the largest maritime evacuation in U.S. history. Filmed on location in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Manhattan, the production aims to capture the urgency of September 11, 2001, when an impromptu civilian fleet of ferries, tugboats, and private vessels rescued over 500,000 people from Lower Manhattan's seawall.
