FleetCollect Turns IFTA Miles into Trucking Leaderboard

FleetCollect, a trucking-compliance software platform, has launched a new Community section inside its IFTA app that turns the GPS miles drivers already log for fuel-tax reporting into a nationwide leaderboard. The feature, available on iPhone and Android, ranks owner-operators and small-fleet drivers by total miles driven, awarding experience points (XP) and levels for real work like completing trips and logging fuel stops. The leaderboard updates weekly and monthly, with top finishers earning permanent badges on their profiles. A social feed called the Drivers Lounge allows drivers to post text, images, and videos in a familiar X-style format, while automatic milestone announcements keep the community informed of achievements without extra effort. Privacy is built in by default, with drivers appearing as anonymous IDs until they opt to reveal usernames and photos.

The core innovation is that the community is built directly on work drivers already do for IFTA compliance, eliminating the need for extra logging or separate platforms. Founder Herman Armstrong emphasized that while no one gets excited about fuel-tax paperwork, drivers do want to know how they compare to peers across the country. The app automatically tracks state-by-state GPS miles and generates quarterly IFTA reports, with the community feature now live for all users. FleetCollect also offers DOT Driver Qualification File management and a drug/alcohol testing consortium for owner-operators and small fleets.

The launch addresses the isolation of long-haul trucking by embedding connection into the compliance workflow, rather than requiring drivers to use separate forums or apps.
