Flag Elite Youth Basketball League Opens Registration for 2027 Winter Season

Unlocked Potential has officially opened registration for its Flag Elite 2027 Winter Youth Basketball League, offering young athletes in Flagstaff and surrounding Northern Arizona communities a chance to develop their skills, compete in organized games, and experience postseason basketball on a professional stage. The league, designed for multiple age groups and skill levels, provides an official league jersey, weekly practices, regular-season games, playoffs, and an All-Star Game. Select divisions will advance to championship games hosted at Mortgage Matchup Center, home of the Phoenix Suns, giving qualifying athletes the rare opportunity to compete on an NBA court.

"Playing at the home of the Phoenix Suns gives young athletes something meaningful to work toward throughout the season," said Coach Kiki. "Our goal is to create an experience that helps players improve their basketball skills while developing confidence, discipline, teamwork and lasting memories." The winter season combines player development with organized competition. Weekly practices will focus on fundamentals such as ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, communication, and decision-making, while games teach sportsmanship, accountability, and teamwork. Coaches will emphasize age-appropriate instruction and competitive balance to support learning and personal growth. Divisions, schedules, and championship eligibility will be determined by registration totals, age classifications, and league guidelines.

Families are encouraged to register early because space may be limited within individual divisions. Parents should review all registration information, including age requirements, season dates, practice expectations, game locations, fees, and participation policies.
