Clym Environmental Opens Sustainable Waste Facility in Frostburg

Clym Environmental Services, LLC celebrated the grand opening of its new Frostburg, Maryland, processing facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 27, 2026. The event drew over 100 attendees, including elected officials, industry leaders, and community partners. Highlights included a VIP tour, information stations on ozone treatment technology, and a display by Energy Select, the solar company behind the facility's solar power system. The ceremony featured remarks from Charles Watts, President of Clym, Maryland Secretary of Commerce Harry Coker, Allegany County Commissioner Bill Atkinson, and Kelly Schulz, CEO of the Maryland Tech Council, among others. Juli McCoy, President & CEO of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, praised the facility for creating living-wage jobs and its synergy with Frostburg State University. Clym also received a certificate of congressional recognition from Congresswoman April McClain Delaney's office, acknowledging its pioneering work in environmentally friendly waste management biotechnology.

The Frostburg facility will utilize Clym's proprietary ozone treatment technology to process biohazardous material into safe, reusable items. This innovative approach uses ozone generated from ambient air and powered by solar energy, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional thermal treatment. The facility's opening follows Clym's recognition as the Life Sciences Innovation of the Year winner at the Maryland Tech Council's 2026 ICON Awards, and it supports the company's expansion across the eastern United States.
