Andina Copper's Cobrasco Drill Reveals Major Copper-Molybdenum Extension

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has announced a significant breakthrough at its Cobrasco Project in Chocó, Colombia, with drillhole CDH005 confirming a major southerly extension of copper-molybdenum-silver mineralization. This discovery, following high-grade intersections in previous holes CDH003 and CDH004, demonstrates a large multi-phase porphyry system with newly observed intermediate intrusive phases consistently mineralized over broad intervals. The company's President and CEO, Joseph van den Elsen, emphasized the "large-scale and relatively shallow nature" of Cobrasco Central, noting that drilling has tested less than half the potential 2500m x 1000m target area, suggesting potential for a "globally significant copper deposit(s)." Unlike earlier holes that intersected felsic lithologies, CDH005 encountered mineralized diorite to dacite-andesite porphyries (intermediate lithologies), with visually significant chalcopyrite-dominant sulphide mineralization and alteration styles indicating a long-lived mineralizing system. The mineralization remains open to the south, supported by a large surface geochemical anomaly extending 2.5km north-south and 900m east-west. Additional drillholes CDH006 and CDH007 are completed with assays pending, while CDH008 is underway targeting northern extensions.
