Meet the Local Owners

The new Plato’s Closet Williamsburg is locally owned and operated by Austin and Jennifer Saylor, a husband-and-wife duo with deep roots in Virginia. Jennifer, a Williamsburg native and graduate of William & Mary, previously worked as a coastal geologist and environmental scientist before pursuing her passion for sustainability through business ownership. Austin brings years of retail experience, having worked in his family’s five Plato’s Closet stores across Virginia since he was 15 years old.

“I’ve always been passionate about sustainability and finding ways to give items a second life,” said Jennifer Saylor. “Opening Plato’s Closet in my hometown allows us to combine that passion with an opportunity to support local students and families. Beginning on November 13 and throughout the weekend, Plato’s Closet Williamsburg is inviting guests to stop in to experience the following:

• Thursday, November 13: The first 25 people in line will each receive a $25 Plato’s Closet gift card, and complimentary refreshments will be served while supplies last.
• Friday, November 14: The first 25 customers in line will receive a free Plato’s Closet tote bag. The store will also feature a special designer handbag drop for shoppers looking for high-end finds.
• Saturday, November 15: The store will host an athletic brand drop featuring popular pieces from Lululemon. Customers will also receive an entry into a local gift basket raffle that day.
• Sunday, November 16: Shoppers will earn double rewards points on all purchases. Guests who spend $75 or more will also receive a $10 coupon toward a future purchase.
