The Storm Windows are known as purveyors (some say inventors) of "Power-Folk", with live performances described as the "Folk Ramones" by Spin Magazine. Performing on the recording are The Storm Windows Trio: Rob Mathews - guitar and vocals, Don Mathews - upright bass and vocals and Erik Anderson – drums. The single is being released on the PGRoots label of Paper Garden Records and will be followed by the release of a full album (including on vinyl if you are lucky enough to catch a live show this summer). The Storm Windows play both showcases and bar gigs, and always have a few of each lined up. The band takes their name The Storm Windows from a song title of one of their musical heroes, John Prine, but also as an appropriate description of some veteran musicians who have weathered a few storms but are still standing and singing about it.
