Lincoln's Double Explores the Man Behind the Mirror in a Tale of Identity, Loyalty, and Redemption

NEW YORK, NY, October 25, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- What happens when you are forced to become the very thing you were sworn to destroy? Perry Fox explores this profound question in his moving debut novel, Lincoln's Double: Friend or Foe, a story about the masks we wear and the men we become beneath them.

Frank Fox is a simple, God-fearing farmer from Florida who joins the Confederate army to defend his home. When he is tasked with the ultimate deception, impersonating President Abraham Lincoln, he embarks on a path that will strip him of his old identity and force him to build a new one. Disguised as his sworn enemy, Frank gains a unique perspective on the man behind the myth. He finds not a tyrant, but a weary, compassionate leader.

As Frank slips into Lincoln's shoes at public events, the line between performance and reality begins to blur. He starts to understand the immense burden of the presidency, the fragility of the Union, and the profound faith that guides his look-alike. This journey of identity forces Frank to confront his own loyalties, his beliefs about the war, and his relationship with God. When tragedy finally strikes, Frank is left to question his very purpose: if he could not save the man he came to love, what was the meaning of his path?

Lincoln's Double is a powerful character study that goes beyond the battlefield to explore the quiet, internal war within one man's soul. It is a story of second chances, unlikely friendships, and the redemptive power of seeing the humanity in your enemy.
