Congress created the 340B Drug Pricing Program to extend federal resources and improve patient care. The Affordable Care Act added requirements for hospitals to provide free care and financial aid to poor patients, also known as charity care. What's particularly striking is that charity care continues to decline year after year. 340B Drug purchases rose above $100 billion in 2025 across over 42,000 covered entities and over 32,000 pharmacies.

The infographic connects the dots on the program's unfettered growth and how that growth is failing to deliver on the program's progress.
