Valencia Unveils New Holy Grail Urban Route Signage to Boost Cultural Tourism

The recent installation of new signage for the Holy Chalice Urban Route in Valencia, Spain, marks a significant step in enhancing the city's historical and cultural heritage. This initiative allows residents and visitors to independently explore sites associated with the Holy Chalice, culminating at València Cathedral, where the relic has been preserved since the fifteenth century. The International Association of the Cultural Route The Way of the Holy Grail of Europe toured the route, presenting the official Way of the Holy Grail Pilgrim Credential and emphasizing the connection between the city's tourism and the historic route linking Jerusalem, Rome, Aragón, and València. The new interpretative panels, installed by the City Council of València, feature historical information, route maps, and QR codes with multilingual content, reinforcing the city's position as a hub for accessible cultural tourism.

Beyond tourism, the signage represents a decisive step in promoting the Holy Chalice internationally within the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme. The Association has congratulated the City Council and proposed "València: Gateway to the European Cultural Route: The Way of the Holy Grail," inviting the city to the 15th Advisory Forum in Yerevan, Armenia, in September 2026. This initiative is backed by cooperation agreements between the City Council's Department of Entrepreneurship and the International Association, as well as between the Provincial Council of València – Turisme València and the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail. These partnerships underscore a shared commitment to heritage, sustainable tourism, and European projection.

The Way of the Holy Grail is a cultural cooperation project connecting territories through historical narrative and scientific research, with routes extending to France, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Monaco, and the Holy See. The new urban signage enables visitors to understand that the Holy Chalice is not just a relic but a central element of a European route seeking recognition. The Association encourages both locals and international tourists to experience the route and discover the offerings of The Way of the Holy Grail, Route of Knowledge, Path of Peace.
