UGI Utilities Launches Bethlehem System Upgrades for Enhanced Service

UGI Utilities is embarking on a significant system upgrade in Bethlehem starting July 1, aiming to enhance the safety and reliability of its service. This project includes the replacement of a gas main, affecting key areas such as East North Street between Pine Street and Center Street, and Center Street between East North Street and East Raspberry Street. The construction, scheduled from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday, will temporarily restrict parking and interrupt natural gas service, necessitating UGI's access to properties for equipment inspection and relighting. The underground work is projected to wrap up by the end of July, with final paving and restoration to follow. This initiative also presents an opportunity for homes and businesses along the project route to consider converting to natural gas.
