Sono-Tek Lands $820K Medical Device Order as Customer Scales Production

Sono-Tek Corporation (Nasdaq: SOTK), a global leader in ultrasonic coating systems, has secured a significant $820,000 purchase order for equipment used in producing diagnostic medical devices. The order, placed through a subcontractor integrating Sono-Tek's technology into a larger automated manufacturing line, represents a major scaling up by an existing medical sector customer. This system will deposit a specialized electronically active layer for diagnostic applications and marks a substantial expansion in production capability compared to earlier equipment from Sono-Tek, with shipment expected during fiscal year 2027.

According to President and CEO Steve Harshbarger, this order demonstrates the progression of Sono-Tek's relationship with the customer as they scale manufacturing capabilities. The customer previously purchased two production systems priced between $175,000 and $190,000 for early production scaling, making this latest order a meaningful step forward in both system capability and throughput. This award reinforces Sono-Tek's continued success in the medical device sector, a key growth driver in the company's long-term strategy, and comes from a different customer than previously announced $5.0 million and $2.8 million medical device system orders, highlighting Sono-Tek's expanding footprint across multiple production programs within the broader medical sector.
