Peace Rides: Motorcycles Unite to Heal Violence-Stricken Communities

On June 28, 2026, the Peace Rides gathered for their monthly motorcycle ride through South Central Los Angeles, continuing a 14-year tradition of promoting peace and supporting families affected by violence. The group rides through local neighborhood streets, concluding at Athens Park, to demonstrate that communities can unite in healing rather than retaliation. Among the participants was a 70-year-old professional wedding photographer attending his first Peace Ride after the tragic loss of his 32-year-old grandson, who was fatally shot following an argument. The grandfather, rather than seeking revenge, wants to honor his grandson's memory by helping build a more peaceful community. He joined one of the motorcycle groups in the Peace Rides and was presented a copy of The Way to Happiness, a common-sense guide to better living, which he accepted with gratitude, taking additional copies to share with others to spread peace, compassion, and personal responsibility. For 14 years, the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International has donated The Way to Happiness booklets to the Peace Rides events. The booklet, written by L. Ron Hubbard, Humanitarian and Founder of the Scientology Religion, states, "Happiness lies in engaging in worthwhile activities" and "And that is my wish for you: flourish and prosper!" The Scientology religion, founded by L. Ron Hubbard, has expanded to more than 11,000 Churches, Missions, and affiliated groups in 167 countries.
