Morgan Stanley Foundation Grant Boosts Summer Hunger Relief for Atlanta Kids

The Atlanta Community Food Bank has received a $32,000 grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to support its programs targeting children and families facing hunger in Atlanta and north Georgia. This funding will be used to purchase food for school pantry partners during the summer months of June and July, a critical time when many children lose access to school meals. The Atlanta Community Food Bank serves a 29-county area where one in eight people, including one in six children, experience food insecurity. Kyle Waide, President and CEO of the food bank, emphasized the importance of ensuring children have nutritious food to thrive, especially when school is out. The grant is part of a broader initiative by the Morgan Stanley Foundation, which has partnered with Feeding America since 2009, contributing over $50 million to hunger-relief programs nationwide. This year, the foundation is supporting 33 Feeding America partner food banks, including the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
