Huawei Launches Mate 90 Series with Kirin 9050 Pro Chip

Huawei has unveiled its next-generation flagship HUAWEI Mate 90 Series, headlined by the LogicFolding Tau Chip, the Kirin 9050 Pro. The launch, announced via Media OutReach Newswire, showcases breakthrough innovations including the XMAGE True-to-Color Portrait Camera, Second-generation Linglong Display, full-body Kunlun Xuanwu architecture, and the HUAWEI XMAGE Z10 Modular Camera. Richard Yu, Executive Director of Huawei and Chairman of the Huawei Consumer BG, declared, “The HUAWEI Mate 90 Series is equipped with the flagship Tau chipset across the entire series. The Mate 90 Series introduces a refined design with a glossy mid-frame and matte metal rear cover. Durability is enhanced with the full-body Kunlun Xuanwu architecture on Pro models and higher, featuring the industry’s first Optical Kunlun Glass for 20x better drop resistance and 3rd-gen Kunlun Glass for 50% improved impact resistance. The Pro Max Premium Edition and RS ULTIMATE DESIGN use upgraded Xuanwu Kunlun Glass, cutting reflections by 70% and boosting scratch resistance by 16x. Performance varies by model: the Pro Max houses the Kirin 9050 Pro with a 31% overall performance increase, the Pro features the Kirin 9035 with a 20% boost, and the standard edition uses the Kirin 9030 with a 27% gain. HarmonyOS 7 enables hyper-threading and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, rendering up to 55 million rays per second.

The second-generation Linglong Display on the Pro reaches 12,000 nits peak brightness and extends panel lifespan by 138%, while the Pro Max and RS ULTIMATE DESIGN debut a Full-color Linglong Display with full BT.2020 color management. Connectivity advances include an industry-first Wi-Fi and cellular converged antenna architecture, eSIM support, and four-SIM three-standby on the Pro Max. The XMAGE True-to-Color Camera 3.0 improves color accuracy by 37% and skin-tone accuracy by 62%. The Pro Max features an 18 EV ultra-HDR main camera and a 200 MP RYYB telephoto camera.
