Hong Kong Optical Fair 2025: Smart Tech, Green Solutions & Silver Market Focus

The 33rd Hong Kong International Optical Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and co-organized by the Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association, opened on November 5-7, 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This premier industry event features over 660 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions, showcasing cutting-edge innovations under the theme "Bright Eyes - New Horizons." Key highlights include ten international pavilions representing Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and a new ASEAN pavilion, along with the signature "Brand Name Gallery" displaying over 200 renowned global brands. The fair emphasizes three crucial market trends through specialized labels: "Smart Ageing Products" addressing the silver economy, "Green Solutions Suppliers" promoting sustainability, and "Smart Eyewear" featuring advanced technology integration.

Notable innovations on display include Japan's Sasaki Celluloid showcasing rare celluloid eyewear, Taiwan's Greatland Enterprise presenting NIRTECH® cooling lens technology, and American brand Blake Kuwahara demonstrating intricate handcrafted frames. Hong Kong exhibitors like Meisystem Asia Ltd. present the EasyFit Trend ophthalmic lens edger for optical shops, while Arts Optical Company Limited introduces OPTI AI technology using VR and AI to create bespoke progressive lenses. The fair also features the Green Booth Design Competition, recognizing exhibitors for eco-friendly booth concepts, with winners including Wenzhou Ouhai Glasses Co Ltd (Gold Award) and Micron Eyewear Manufactory Company Limited (Silver Award). The event adopts the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, extending business opportunities through the Click2Match online platform until November 14.

Complementing the exhibition is the 23rd Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium on November 6, focusing on "Age Well, See Well: Redefining Eye Care for the Golden Age" with experts from Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, and the UK discussing senior vision care challenges. The 25th Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition, themed "Blending Tradition and Technology," celebrated innovative designs that merge craftsmanship with modern technology, with winning entries displayed at the BNG Rendezvous. Acting HKTDC Executive Director Jenny Koo highlighted the fair's global reach, welcoming buyers from emerging markets in ASEAN, Middle East, and South America, as well as traditional markets like Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom, creating substantial business opportunities for the optical industry's future development.
