HITN’s Tú Cuentas Cafecito Wins Two Telly Awards

HITN's youth-focused film initiative, Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest (TCCYF), has garnered significant recognition with its Latino-focused interview series Tú Cuentas Cafecito winning two Telly Awards. The series earned a Silver Telly for an episode featuring Ingrid ‘Superstar’ Salcedo, an Emmy Award-winning broadcast executive and producer known for shaping Latin music award shows, and a Bronze Telly for an episode with Puerto Rican actress and filmmaker Roselyn Sánchez. Sánchez, known for Without a Trace and Devious Maids, recently directed Diario, Mujer y Café, a personal project rooted in Puerto Rican storytelling. The awards were in the General–Interview & Talk Show category, highlighting the series' impact in amplifying Hispanic voices.

Cynthia Rivera, co-director of the series, emphasized HITN's five-year goal with Tú Cuentas to provide a platform for young filmmakers. She expressed gratitude to emerging filmmakers and the Telly Awards for the honor. The series is hosted by Raymond Arturo Pérez, a television writer from San Antonio, Texas, who previously worked on Selena: The Series. Pérez brings warmth and authenticity to each Cafecito conversation, creating a welcoming space for guests to share their stories. The awards underscore the growing visibility of Hispanic-centered storytelling in digital media, blending cultural conversation with personal narrative.
