Indonesian Singer Wins Global Chinese Music Co-Creation Contest

Indonesian singer Kezia Kaithlyn wins C-Wave Global Music Co-creation Plan with 2B-stream adaptation, fostering Asia-Pacific cultural exchange through Chinese-language music.

This news matters because it demonstrates how music can transcend borders and foster cross-cultural understanding, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. The C-Wave initiative provides a platform for ordinary musicians to gain international exposure, as seen with Kezia Kaithlyn's adaptation reaching over 2 billion streams. By encouraging co-creation across languages and cultures, the project strengthens people-to-people ties and promotes mutual appreciation, aligning with APEC's goals of regional cooperation and youth exchange. It also highlights the growing global appeal of Chinese-language music and the potential of AI and adaptation to bridge linguistic divides, offering a model for cultural diplomacy that could inspire similar efforts worldwide.
