28 Liberty Event Venue Halo Welcomes Thai SELECT Certified Restaurants, Cultural Performances, and Cooking Demonstrations

On Thursday, September 18, 28 Liberty will welcome the TASTES of Thai SELECT festival in conjunction with Thai SELECT and the Department of International Trade Promotion. The event, organized through the 28 Liberty event venue Halo, will take place on 28 Liberty Street’s South Plaza from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The free-admission, all-day cultural and culinary celebration will feature 14 Thai-SELECT-certified restaurants and vendors, each recognized for authentic Thai flavors, high-quality ingredients, and traditional preparation methods. Attendees can enjoy freshly prepared Thai dishes, along with live cooking demonstrations, traditional Thai dance performances, and music.

In addition to food tastings, the festival will feature four cultural booths: Team Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Topthai (a Thai product line available on Amazon), and a Thai Traditional Costume booth. Visitors can try on traditional attire or take photos with dancers in costume while experiencing Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.

The TASTES of Thai SELECT festival is part of the global Thai SELECT initiative, an official certification program awarded by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. The seal signifies authenticity, ensuring diners experience true Thai cuisine at restaurants worldwide.

Spanning 30,000 square feet, Halo is designed for a wide array of events with unparalleled flexibility, accommodating up to 750 guests. The venue expands 28 Liberty’s existing events space, complementing the expansive plaza and Union Square Hospitality’s Manhatta, a restaurant and event space on the top floor of the property.

Halo at 28 Liberty has emerged as a premier event venue in Lower Manhattan, showcasing world-class programming, including the UBS House of Craft x Dior exhibition and the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair.
