This summer, Sheehy Auto Stores helped hundreds of students across the Mid-Atlantic start the school year with confidence through a series of community-driven back-to-school initiatives. With 30 dealerships participating in donation drives, free haircut events, and local school partnerships, Sheehy collected and distributed thousands of school supplies and provided critical support to families preparing for the new school year.

Highlights of Sheehy’s Back-to-School Giving

School Supply Drive

All 30 Sheehy Auto Stores dealerships participated in the annual School Supply Drive from July 28 through August 11, collecting thousands of new supplies—including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and hygiene essentials—to support students and families preparing for the school year.

The donated items were distributed through a wide network of community partners and schools, including:

• Nonprofit & Community Organizations:
  Ronald McDonald House of Northern Virginia, Kids in Need Foundation, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office
• Elementary & Middle Schools:
  Garfield Elementary, Spotswood Elementary, Pearson Elementary, Weems Elementary, Hutchinson Elementary, Marumsco Hills Elementary, Glen Burnie Park Elementary, and Forest Oak Middle School’s Linkages to Learning Program

Through these partnerships, Sheehy ensured that thousands of local students began the school year with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.

Toyota’s Big Summer Giveback

Sheehy Toyota dealerships joined Toyota’s nationwide initiative in partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation (KINF).

• Sheehy Toyota of Laurel (MD) donated $10,000 to Laurel Woods Elementary School, where teachers hosted a special “back-to-school shop” for students. Dealership team members volunteered their time to help students pick school supplies.

• Sheehy Toyota of Fredericksburg (VA) pledged $5,000 to Hugh Mercer Elementary to provide critical resources for local families.

• Sheehy Toyota of Timonium (MD) and Sheehy Toyota of Stafford (VA) contributed directly to KINF’s national pool to benefit underserved schools nationwide.

Sharp Start Saturday
For the third year, Sheehy partnered with Pete’s Barbershop in Fredericksburg for the popular Sharp Start Saturday event. Held August 9, the event, sponsored by Sheehy GMC of Fredericksburg, provided 148 free haircuts, 150 lunchboxes and gift cards, and complimentary meals from the Kool Zone food truck to local students ages 5–16, helping them start the school year looking and feeling their best.
