Q&A with Jennifer Kryshka, Director of Philanthropy at Alzheimer’s Community Care
Jennifer Kryshka brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience to Alzheimer’s Community Care (ACC). She joined ACC earlier this year, launching innovative engagement programs like NextGen CARES, which unites young professionals in giving, volunteering, and advocacy. Prior to her work at ACC, Jennifer served as CEO of the Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches, where she led funding, programmatic, and community efforts for women and girls.
In this Q&A, Jennifer explains her role at ACC, why philanthropy matters so deeply, and highlights upcoming signature events to support individuals and families living with dementia.
What Is Your Role at Alzheimer’s Community Care?
As Director of Philanthropy, I oversee donor cultivation, event strategy, and community partnerships to fuel ACC’s mission. My objectives are to raise awareness, grow financial support, and ensure our programs reach every family affected by Alzheimer’s and related disorders. I also manage ACC’s NextGen CARES initiative, engaging the next generation of philanthropists in monthly giving, peer-to-peer advocacy, and volunteer leadership.
What Is Your Background In?
I came to Alzheimer’s Community Care with over two decades of nonprofit leadership, most recently as CEO of the Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches, where we supported women and girls through grants, education, and leadership training. My passion for mission-driven work continues at ACC, now focused on supporting families impacted by dementia.
Why Is Philanthropy at ACC So Important?
Philanthropy is vital because 85 cents of every dollar we receive goes directly into services such as adult day care, family navigation, 24-hour help lines, advocacy, and more, all of which change lives on a daily basis. In a region with nearly 580,000 Floridians living with Alzheimer’s, and only half receiving a diagnosis, our donor support ensures families find the help they urgently need. Additionally, beyond just covering costs, philanthropy also expands our reach, helping to ensure that no family falls through the cracks.
Are There Any Upcoming Events That People Can Come Out To?
We’re excited for two major upcoming events that not only raise funds but also build community:
- Season Kickoff Cocktail Reception – November 18, 2025, from 6–8 PM at The Ben in downtown West Palm. Tickets are $125 per guest. Claire & David Uhlfelder will chair the evening as we present the inaugural Community Heart Award to the Mary Alice Fortin Foundation in thanks for their longstanding partnership. Sponsorship levels are available.
- Hearts of Hope Luncheon – February 6, 2026, 11 AM–1 PM at The Addison in Boca Raton. We’ll honor Pamela Higer-Polani with the inaugural Heart of ACC Award for her dedicated support of dementia care. Ticket and sponsorship details will be available soon.
These milestone events anchor our fundraising calendar: the Cocktail Reception kicking off Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and the Hearts of Hope Luncheon in February, each celebrating community leaders and galvanizing support for families facing dementia.
What Makes ACC Unique In How It Serves Families?
ACC is one of the only organizations in South Florida that provides community-based, dementia-specific care for both patients and their caregivers. Our model is comprehensive and person-centered. From specialized adult day care centers to caregiver training, ID locator bracelets, and case management, we focus on safety, dignity, and compassion. We pride ourselves on meeting families where they are both geographically and emotionally, and walking with them every step of the journey.
Other Than Attending the Events or Donating Money, How Can Someone Get Involved?
There are many meaningful ways to support our work. Volunteers can help at adult day centers, participate in community outreach, or lend time to events. Advocacy is another critical piece. Even just sharing our mission and connecting someone to services makes a difference.
