Joe Clancy is the editor, publishing and co-owner of ST Publishing, Inc., which produces The Saratoga Special newspaper, thisishorseracing.com website and other editorial projects about Thoroughbred racing. Clancy is the editor of Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred, the monthly magazine produced by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, which received the 2024 overall General Excellence Award from American Horse Publications.
Before launching his career as a journalist, he grew up in racing as the son of a Mid-Atlantic-based trainer of steeplechase and flat horses and worked with horses in barns and at racetracks through high school and college. The University of Delaware graduate lives in Fair Hill, Md. with his wife Sam and their Labrador Retriever Katie. Joe and Sam are the parents of sons Ryan, Jack and Nolan.

David has chaired the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission and the Maryland Higher Education Loan Corporation, served as President of both the Jewish National Fund and the Towson Business Association and was a member of the PNC Bank board.
