Community Foundation of Howard County Celebrates Beverly

The Community Foundation of Howard County will hold an event recognizing Beverly White-Seals, the past president and CEO of the foundation retiring this year after 13 years of service. “Celebrating Beverly” will take place on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College.

During her tenure, White-Seals oversaw record-breaking fundraising efforts and expanded the organization’s impact throughout the community. Under her leadership, the Community Foundation distributed more than $28 million in grants to nonprofits and established initiatives to address key issues facing Howard County.

“We’re deeply grateful to Beverly for her years of visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to our community. We look forward to recognizing her profound impact growing the foundation and deepening its mission,” said Barbara Rishel, chair of the Community Foundation. “We invite our donors, friends, neighbors and community leaders to celebrate Beverly’s remarkable journey with the Community Foundation and support her legacy into the future.”

Tickets cost $75, and sponsorship opportunities are available. Proceeds from the event will support the Beverly White-Seals Legacy of Leadership Fund, an endowed, unrestricted fund at the Community Foundation of Howard County. Tickets can be purchased at CFHoCo.org/Celebrating-Beverly.

The Community Foundation of Howard County serves as a knowledgeable, trusted partner that forges connections between donors and nonprofit organizations to provide impactful investments in Howard County. In 2023, the foundation awarded more than $1.7 million through 425 grants to organizations delivering human service, arts and cultural, educational and civic programs. Money for the grant programs comes primarily from income generated by the foundation’s endowment supported by more than 400 funds established by Howard County businesses, families and individuals.
