After reviewing many thoughtful and inspiring essays, Younce, Vtipil, Baznik & Banks, P.A. is thrilled to recognize the winners of their 2025 scholarship competition:

First Place: Jayceon Norris
Second Place: Dixie Huffman

Jayceon Norris is the winner of the first-place prize – a $2,000 scholarship. Jayceon attended North Pitt High School, where he played varsity football. Despite his own struggles with loss, Jayceon is passionate about mental health and works to uplift anyone around him and help those in need. These passions fuel his dream career in the field of psychology. As a first-generation college student, he hopes to obtain a master's degree. No matter where he ends up, Jayceon wants to be involved with volunteer and advocacy work, as well as entrepreneurship.

Dixie Huffman is the second-place winner and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. She attended Fred T Foard High, where she was on the varsity swim team. Dixie will be a first-generation college student as a member of the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs 2029 class, majoring in Political Science and Philosophy. She plans to become an attorney focused on policy reform, especially in areas such as juvenile justice, mental health, and educational equity. Dixie is most passionate about the law, writing, and advocating for people who are often overlooked.
